MidAtlantic Medical Administrative Services (MAMAS) is a limited liability corporation engaged solely in physician billing and collection management. We are specialists in patient billing, claims processing, collections, managed care case negotiations, and accounts receivable management. With our expert personnel and state-of-the-art computerized billing system, MAMAS provides physicians with online data and claims processing capabilities, a wide variety of A/R management tools, effective oversight and control mechanisms, and a well defined management reporting structure.
Our expertise encompasses medical specialties. For our clients, we provide prompt billing for medical services, perform CPT and ICD coding reviews, process insurance claims correctly (the first time), continually review the status of claims to ensure payment, provide user-friendly monthly billing management reports, and perform ongoing profit/loss analysis on insurance carrier reimbursements.
Barbara Peterson, Executive Director, has over thirty years experience in all aspects of physician practice management. She is equally at home in the operations and finances of private practices and large, hospital-based clinical departments. In previous positions, Ms. Peterson served as Director of Operations, Practice Administrator and Billing Manager for several private group practices and a hospital-based faculty practice in a university environment. Ms. Peterson received a B.S. in business management for Kean College and a Masters in Public Administration specializing in Health Care Policy and Management from Seton Hall University.
Ms. Peterson is expert in a broad range of practice management skills:

- Development of electronic database and management systems
Janet DelVecchio, Director of Operations, has extensive experience in the areas of claims billing and coding, staff training, hospital and physician contracting, net-work development and operations. In previous positions, she served as Director of Provider Services for University Health Plans and Manager of National Accounts for Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Ms. DelVecchio has special expertise in the following areas:
- Design and implementation of claims processing and customer service call centers
- Oversight of claims processing functions
- Managed care contract negotiation
- Physician credentialing procedures
- Office staff oversight
- Development of provider communications policies and procedures
Ms. DelVecchio has served as Adjunct Professor at Passaic County Community College, where she taught courses in medical terminology and advanced medical coding and billing for the Health Information Technology Program. She received a B.S. from Montclair State University and a Masters in Public Administration from Seton Hall University, specializing in Health Care Policy and Management. She is a Certified Professional Coder.
